According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 29 people die in drunk driving accidents every day. That means there is 1 death occurring every 50 minutes. These accidents add up to $44 billion in expenses every year.
It is a criminal offense to drive drunk with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more. Still, even with a BAC lower than 0.08% can still affect your driving. It is better to be safe than sorry, and take the proper precautions.
Effects of Alcohol
There are many effects that alcohol has on people and it affects each person differently. Some will react one way, and others will react another way.
There are also other aspects that come into play when it comes to alcohol consumption. These factors include the amount of food they consume and what the food is, the amount of hours of sleep they have gotten, and their health in general. Besides those factors, there are other physical and mental effects that people can go through when they drink alcohol or do drugs including:
– Uncoordinated
– Impaired reflexes
– Blurry vision
– Passing out
– Dazed or sleepy
– Very relaxed
– Intense irritation
– Memory lapses
– Physical tremors
– Delusion and hallucinating
– Blacking out
With these in mind, it is VERY dangerous to drive under the influence and everyone should understand that and the consequences seriously.
